Mushrooms and mushroom powder in wooden bowl with spoon

Mushroom has a history of edible and prescription for thousands of years. Because of its potential special advantages, it has aroused a lot of interest in academic circles recently. In traditional Chinese medicine prescriptionsGanoderma lucidum& lt; & Gt; & Gt; & amp; Gt;Hericium ErinaceusAnd & nbspCordyceps sinensisThese three kinds of mushrooms have long been used in many ways, and they are only a small part of the many popular mushrooms.

Health benefits of Ganoderma lucidum

Ganoderma lucidumGanoderma lucidum is a kind of mushroom commonly used in herbal prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine. This fungus grows on a sunny living tree or dead tree stump and is semicircular or kidney-shaped, and the cap is a small platform-like structure. Ganoderma lucidum is usually used to strengthen the body’s defense system or improve overall health. As a herb, Ganoderma lucidum is rich in polysaccharides (long-chain sugars polymerized by different types of sugar molecules), Ganoderma lucidum triterpenes (precursors of steroids) and other types of compounds. Ganoderma lucidum brings considerable potential benefits to the body.

Possible role of Ganoderma lucidum in preventing oxidation

It has been proved that polysaccharides and triterpenes in Ganoderma lucidum may have the effect of defending against oxidation and help to resist the damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are molecular groups containing reactive oxygen species and unpaired electrons, which may damage cells and tissues. Anti-oxidation components can quench free radicals by providing electronically stabilized free radicals and converting them into harmless forms. Even the normal operation of the body produces free radicals, so ingredients that defend against oxidation are needed to prevent them from causing damage. Among the compounds found in Ganoderma lucidum, Ganoderma lucidum triterpenes may have significant protective effects against oxidation.

Ganoderma lucidum supplements may have the effect of delaying aging or prolonging life through its anti-oxidation ingredients, a human study has found. Ganoderma lucidum supplementation also seems to be good for liver health, and imaging shows that mild fatty liver cases are improved after Ganoderma lucidum supplementation.

Atherosclerosis is a process in which lipids and complex sugars accumulate along the arteries to form plaques and hyperplasia, which can lead to embolism and heart disease. Free radicals accelerate the development of atherosclerosis and lead to intimal dysfunction. Ganoderma lucidum supplements may protect against oxidation in both chest pain caused by heart disease and people at risk of heart disease. Although it has not been confirmed, these effects may help delay the process of atherosclerosis in patients with heart disease.

Possible stimulating effect of Ganoderma lucidum on body defense

The polysaccharides found in Ganoderma lucidum seem to have some key effects on the body’s defense system. A study of patients with chronic diseases has found that Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides supplementation may strengthen the body’s defense response. In a similar study, Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides may have some tendency to strengthen the body’s defense mechanism, although they did not show significant effect at the end of 12 weeks of the trial.

A review of cell culture and animal studies found that Ganoderma lucidum may have multiple effects on the body’s defense capabilities. Ingestion of Ganoderma lucidum may stimulate the function of white blood cells, which in turn increases the activity of different types of white blood cells. Moreover, ingestion of Ganoderma lucidum may help regulate the expression of cytokines (signal molecules used in the body’s defense system), thus further strengthening the body’s defense response. Some studies have also found its potential mitigation effect on inflammatory response.

In patients with rheumatoid joint problems, Ganoderma lucidum combined with independent herbal prescription Sanmiao Powder, the healing effect may be more significant. As a result, the patient’s pain index decreased by 21%, and the overall disease index decreased by 18%. In theory, it is generally believed that the defense enhancement of mushrooms will have a negative impact on their own defensive diseases such as rheumatoid joint problems. however, this study has the opposite result. That is, Ganoderma lucidum may reduce the pain caused by such diseases and optimize overall health.

In another study, the subjects’ mouths were attacked by human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus that causes genital warts. After taking a mixed supplement of Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma lucidum for two months, the removal rate of the virus was 88%, compared with 5% in the control group. The defense enhancement of Ganoderma lucidum is likely to play a strong role in the removal of the virus.

Soup and powder

Several studies have found that Ganoderma lucidum may be good for liver health, but two case reports related to the use of Ganoderma lucidum powder have raised concerns about potential liver problems. Traditionally, Ganoderma lucidum is usually taken through water extracts, such as brewing or boiling, to make mushroom tea or soup. However, two patients reported hepatotoxicity after swallowing Ganoderma lucidum decoction into powder, so there are still hidden worries about the overall use of Ganoderma lucidum products. For the sake of peace of mind, it is better to follow the traditional soup and take Ganoderma lucidum as boiling or brewing.

Health benefits of hericium Erinaceus

Hericium Erinaceus(Hericium erinaceus) is a unique mushroom, head-shaped or Obovate, like the head of a monkey, hence the name “hericium Erinaceus”. Similar to Ganoderma lucidum, hericium Erinaceus has a long history in herbal prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine and is usually used to regulate digestion and nourish the body. Although hericium Erinaceus, like all mushrooms, is rich in polysaccharides that activate the body’s defense capabilities, in some recent studies, attention has been paid to the potential benefits of hericium Erinaceus to the brain and central nervous system.

Brain health

Depression and anxiety: a small study of menopausal women suggests that hericium Erinaceus supplementation may relieve depression and anxiety. A study of overweight individuals found that hericium Erinaceus supplementation may relieve subjects’ emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety and may also lead to sound sleep. In this study, all subjects who took hericium Erinaceus supplements alleviated from moderate to mild symptoms. In addition, a study of female college students found that hericium Erinaceus extract may regulate anxiety and improve sleep quality.

Cognitive decline and dementia: cognitive decline is a precursor to dementia, and case studies on cognitive decline suggest that hericium Erinaceus may have brain-boosting effects. In one study, an 86-year-old man with mild cognitive impairment and long-term depression initially received routine prescription repair, but did not improve. Hericium Erinaceus extract was then taken as an alternative therapy. After six months, the patients’ depressive symptoms and cognitive decline were fundamentally reversed.

In another small trial, when hericium Erinaceus was used for symptomatic cognitive decline, the cognitive ability of 71.4% of subjects taking hericium Erinaceus was significantly improved, while only 6.7% of subjects in the placebo group improved their symptoms. A Japanese study found that hericium Erinaceus supplements seem to help optimize cognitive abilities.

Several other animal studies have shown that hericium Erinaceus may have the potential to prevent cognitive decline and dementia. Although the current human trials are small, the data still suggest that hericium Erinaceus, as a potential treatment, may at least slow the development of early cognitive decline.

Digestive function

Atrophic gastritis is a symptom of chronic gastric mucosal inflammation. If the digestive function is repeatedly damaged, the related tissue may become scarred. In one study, patients with atrophic gastritis took hericium Erinaceus tablets or placebos for three months. 63% of patients in the hericium Erinaceus tablet group did not experience any pain at the end of the trial, compared with 36% in the placebo group. Gastric endoscopy showed that 52% of patients in the hericium Erinaceus group had optimized digestive system tissue, while only 8% in the placebo group had a positive effect.

Hericium Erinaceus seems to have other potential benefits to the gastrointestinal tract. In a human trial, it has been shown that hericium Erinaceus may have a positive effect on gastrointestinal microflora, which are beneficial bacteria found in the small intestine and large intestine. The positive effects of hericium Erinaceus on microbiota and other effects of relieving inflammation explain why hericium Erinaceus has also shown potential benefits for inflammatory reactive bowel disease in some animal studies.

Activate the defense mechanism of the body

In general, it is generally believed that mushroom supplements may activate the body’s defense mechanism, which is due to its rich polysaccharide content. Although there is still a lack of sufficient research data, the current leading evidence still shows the potential benefits of hericium Erinaceus for body defense.

In a study of different kinds of hericium Erinaceus extracts, the regulatory effect of this mushroom on body defense was evaluated. Experiments show that hericium Erinaceus has the potential to strengthen the defense of the body. The authors believe that hericium Erinaceus may be used as a dietary supplement to regulate the body’s defense ability.

Studies have also been carried out on mice that hericium Erinaceus may strengthen the body’s defense mechanism. Once the function of the body’s defense cells is optimized, so will the production of antibodies. In this way, the whole digestive tract of the body defense regulation activity is more active, the body defense ability is also more powerful.

Possible health benefits of Cordyceps sinensis

Cordyceps sinensis& nbsp; (Cordyceps sinensis) enjoys a long history in herbal prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine and Tibetan medicine, which is in line with Ganoderma lucidum and hericium Erinaceus. Cordyceps also contains polysaccharides, and the potential health benefits of taking Cordyceps can be attributed to the presence of polysaccharides. In the practice of traditional Chinese medicine, Cordyceps sinensis is often used as a nourishing product for moisturizing the lungs and kidney.

As a fungus, Cordyceps sinensis is somewhat unusual: its spores are parasitic in insects and grow in insects until they sprout from insects at the end of the day. Different kinds of Cordyceps grow on different insects, while the common Cordyceps species used to prepare prescriptions grow on caterpillars in the wild.

It is said that Cordyceps sinensis has many potential benefits, and relevant research is still accumulating in order to obtain more scientific evidence. It is generally believed that Cordyceps sinensis may have anti-aging properties. Studies on mice and rats have found that Cordyceps sinensis may regulate brain function, sexual ability and defense against oxidation.

Sports performance

Cordyceps sinensis may exuberant energy and improve sports performance. In a small study, long-term sedentary male subjects increased energy production and reduced stress responses during and after high-intensity running. A study of healthy older subjects also suggests that Cordyceps may optimize exercise performance. In addition, in an experiment, Cordyceps sinensis was combined with nbsp.Saul MabelAfter taking it, it was found that the subjects’ exercise performance at high altitude was optimized. Saul Mabel is another herb known for its potential to improve athletic performance. However, other studies on cycling have failed to confirm the effect of Cordyceps sinensis on exercise.

Kidney disease

Traditionally, Cordyceps sinensis is used to tonify the kidney. Most recent studies from China seem to suggest that Cordyceps sinensis may bring at least some benefits in different types of kidney disease. A review of the study found that when combined with standard treatments for chronic kidney disease, Cordyceps seems to help optimize renal function and reduce complications. However, the quality of such studies varies, and the authors are cautious about overexplaining the efficacy of Cordyceps sinensis.

Body defense ability

Like other mushrooms, Cordyceps seems to be good for the body’s defense capabilities. A study of mice found that taking Cordyceps sinensis may stimulate macrophages and may be conducive to the release of leukocyte growth factor. Other studies have found that Cordyceps sinensis may be beneficial to strengthen the body’s defense cells, including macrophages and natural killer cells.

Keystone

Mushroom supplement& nbsp; may have a range of exciting potential uses and benefits. Although most of the studies are still waiting for time to test, these recent studies have confirmed that mushroom supplements may strengthen the body’s defense ability, improve defense activity and many other benefits, so these research results seem to be reasonable.
